So we got my cat neutered....

And he's laying like this.....

Poor baby, lol. When should he be back to himself? He's on pain medicine, so I think he's high, too hahah. But he gets really cuddly, and then wants to play (which I know he can't do right now). He's snuggled up next to SO, but won't sleep. I don't think he's slept since SO brought him home.

And they didn't put a cone around his neck. Are we okay to leave him for an hour or two? We wanna go grab some dinner, but don't want him biting the incision.

Yeah you should be fine to leave him. If you're worried about it, just put some of that vics chest rub over the incision (no it wont hurt or sting). He wont touch it at all.

I can't answer any of your questions, I'm sorry but   at your kitty, he's spread eagle. I hope he gets back to himself soon. He is a cutie!

Gah I don't have any. The only thing I have even remotely close to the gooey/vaseline stuff is Aquaphore.

I laughed so hard when I looked over and saw him laying like that. He laid like that... and was watching tv. lmfao.

I wish they would've given us one! Or even let us buy one. They told SO no

It's amazing how quickly animals bounce back. I don't think it took our cat even a full day before she was feeling back to normal. I laughed at her being drugged up too... But still, poor baby!

One of my kitties always lays like that, it cracks me up. I have had seven cats spayed/neutered, and none of them have ever bothered the incision, nor have they ever had to wear cones.

I did have a dog once who ate her stitches out TWICE after being spayed. Poor thing--she was a wild one though!

And... the medicine instructions said to give him 1/4th of the pain pill 2x a day, SO gave him half the damn pill   LOL

only took my cat a day, but the vet kept him over night, so we didn't see him until about 16 hours after it was done. By the second day he was back to his old self, minus the humping my leg

They didnt cone my kitty either. I just got him fixed about a month ago. He just hid under my bed for the first day, and was 100% back to normal by the 3rd day. Dont worry about him messing with it, he will be fine

They kept him overnight. But... SO pointed out something that didn't make sense. We dropped him off Thursday around 6pm. The receptionist said the surgery would be at noon on Friday, and would only take 5 minutes. But they said he HAD to be dropped off Thursday and stay overnight.

....why? If they didn't do the surgery until the next day? I didn't get it
