worried

posted 1st Mar
I know this is probably normal but Im still worried because I haven't had any sort of aches and pains with this pregnancy. Hell I still sleep like a baby and I didn't even have morning sickness. I've pretty much had a perfect pregnancy so needless to say when I started getting sharp pains in my belly very suddenly about an hour ago I started to worry. I don't think its contractions since its pretty constant and it doesn't feel like my belly is getting hard. When it first happened I drank a couple big glasses of water and lay down but it still hurts pretty bad. It feels like terrible period cramps but also in my cervix and vagina. My baby is still kicking around in there like usual Im just worried because of how suddenly it happened since I haven't had any sort of pain or even discomfort so far and then suddenly I feel like someone is stabbing me in the vagina. Im 32 weeks btw.

It sounds like vagina lightening or crotch lightening.
That's actually what it's called. It's usually starts happening once the baby has moved into birthing position, around 30 ish weeks, give or take.
It's when your baby is down further towards your cervix and kicks or headbutts your cervix, hitting a sensitive nerve that runs to your vagina (don't remember the name of the nerve) that feels like lightening has struck your vagina, hence the name. Lol. The hardness and crampy tummy feeling could be because of how baby moves to get into the position to either headbutt you or kick you.
It's a strange pain, hard to describe, right? Shooting pain in your vagina?
Lovely, isn't it? Ick. Don't miss that.
I hate to say it, but it could get more intense as baby descends further down toward your cervix.
