uti and kidney infection

Has anyone had a uti and kidney infection??? I am 24 weeks and It seems like the infection traveled through my kidneys that is what my doc told me he gave me some antibiotics and told me to take tylenol for pain... I just hope this infection goes away soon because the pain on my kidney comes and it goes and it hurts really bad and after I urinate it burns ... wish me luck girls.

Your kidneys will likely be sensitive for weeks yet. Even after the infection is gone it's common to feel like they're irritated when you put pressure on them such as lying on your back.

I have never had a UTI or kidney infection other than when I was pregnant. I don't know why I get them when pregnant but they are miserable. Take the antibiotics and tylenol. Drink some cranberry juice and lots of water. Hope you feel better soon. But you will probably still have some kidney and bladder discomfort just from being pregnant.

i did!!! i had the exact same thing, i ended up developing a fever and went to the emergency room and the kept me for 3 days pumping me full of saline and antibiotics until i could go 24 hours without a fever. the more water u drink the better you will feel! the more you pee the more you flush out and you will feel much better faster if you drink a whole lot of water.   they had me on antibiotics for the rest of my pregnancy b/c they told me after you develop a kidney infection your more likely to get another one, and they are really bad for you during pregnancy, i almost went into labor at 27 weeks b/c of mine. i hope you feel better soon, lots and lots of water!

I'm not sure. But please be carefull and keep an eye on it, especially because you're pregnant. My mum got a kidney infection from having a UTI but the docs told her was still just a uti and to keep up the fluids and taking painkillers. She ended up hallucinating from fever and passing out and had a 2week long hospital stay. She doesn't remember the begining of it because she was that ill. it was so scary. xx

I got a kidney infection without getting the bladder infection first(really strange in and of itself). The first doc I saw tried to tell me it was a bladder infection, but I have had bladder infections and kidney infections before(at times when I wasn't pregnant, so I know the difference). He put me on an antibiotic and pyridium(basically azo). It's been 3 weeks since I went in for it, and I still feel kidney pain occasionally, and at my last appointment(a week ago), everything came back clear.

I'm feeling better still have like four more days till I finish my antibiotics ... I'm still trying to drink lots of water and cranberry juice no other juices I just really want the infection to go away completely .
