Does your home have a security system

If so, how much did it cost to install, and how much a month is it to get it monitored? I have some batsmurf crazy in-laws that my husband is estranged from, but they have done some smurfing crazy smurf to us the last couple weeks, and I truly do not trust them not to break into my house since we are away a lot.

My parents had one when I lived at home and it drove us crazy so it stayed off most of the time. Now we just have a sign in our yard and that was free.   We installed some very bright motion activated lights around the outside of the house. It's a far less expensive alternative if you have lots of neighbors IMO.
