Sandals & Pain... Anyone else?

posted 28th Feb
I live in Southern California, where many women wear sandals/flip flops year long. I usually only wear them in the warm(er) months, but my feet are killing me after only a couple of hours. The pads of my feet always end up hurting/stinging after I take my sandals off. It sucks! Does anyone else experience this?

Now that spring & summer are around the corner, I want to wear cute sandals, too, dammit!   I was thinking maybe it's cause I wear cheaper sandals....usually payless or old navy. But, I have plenty of friends who wear cheaper ones and it doesn't bother them. Today I even gave my mom's Guess sandals a try, and was dying when I got home. I threw those suckers off & stuck my feet in warm water. I can't bring myself to drop $50 on a pair of ALDO sandals....no matter how cute they are!   I usually have the same problem with heels, which is why I never wear those either.... This blows. I'm destined to be a sneaker, and flats girl forever! ):

Cheap flat sandals with no arch what so ever, suck. They're flat, it's like walking on the hard ground all day.
All my sandals are from Aldo, VS, even A&F.

I can't bring myself to buy cheap shoes, ever. Lol, comfortable shoes are important

EDIT: Do you have flat feet? My friend does and she cant really wear sandals either

Only if I wear those cheap ones from old navy.

Ross has cheap sandals too..I prefer ones with a slight arch so my.feet aren't completely flat.

I wear ortho thongs all year round. They cost me $90 each

It sucks having to spend so much on thongs (flip flops).

I have plantar faciitis and flat feet. Crippling pain with each step and when I'd take my shoes off or simple just sit down and take my feet off the ground... Feels like my heel is expanding and loads of pain off the charts.

I've since had steroid injections in my heels. But the pain is returning. (Injection has only lasted for 3 months   )

I don't mind dropping $60 on a pair of sneakers...but sandals? I only wear them, 3 months of the year, tops. So I cannot bring myself to spend so much on a pair....   I went into Aldo today, and all the ones I loved were $50+!

I'm trying to and everything I can find talks about them causing back pain...but my only issue is that little fatty part behind the toes. It KILLS me. Maybe I'm just not searching correctly....lol

I just googled, I actually have a high arch... So because of that, I place most of the weight on the balls of my feet, and it causes the pain. Well this sucks...   No wonder I can't stand wearing heels for more than 30 minutes, I'm putting double the pressure on it.

I love walking barefoot, too! When I'm home, I don't wear shoes. When I go out, I stick to flats or sneakers. Sandals and heels KILL my feet.

You need to go to a shoe fitting place and explain your pain and your high arch. They will fit your foot with the proper shoe you need to wear.

I couldn't afford special shoes. I'll just stick to sneakers and flats. I also found they sell gel pads specifically for that small area, so I'm going to give those a try, too.
