technology, yay or nay?

for my online english class, some input would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!

Technology has changed drastically in the last few years, and children are changing with it. It’s especially disconcerting, however, to see armies of these very kids wandering through cyberspace mutilating and killing everything in their path-and having a great time doing it. These games are dangerous: they’re modeled after military killing simulators; they’re super-violent and graphic; and kids are playing with these games way too often and for too long. As we ourselves tolerate these games and even label them fun, we are also telling children that slower-paced less emotionally arousing screen fare is boring. Arouse instead of awaken; excite instead of examine; splatter instead of study-this is what we’re telling them. And they’re listening.

Technology isnt a fault here. Parents are. We need to monitor what our children are doing and stop buying games out of their rating if we dont want to take the time to talk to them about the things they're seeing/doing on that screen.

!!! Seriously. When DH gets on an online shooting game or I do there's always a young kid playing a rated M game. Who's fault is it? The parents they just get them any game without checking same with Internet there's parental control most parents don't bother to use it.

Technology is not a babysitter or a parent. You can't just let your child spend hours doing whatever they want and not know/not care what they're doing.
