So basically, even if he has a DEADLY virus, they want him to come in? Seems legit. I agree what what you're sayin here... thefe are some things that just can't be helped. He can do something about it, signing a contract or not. If I was his employer, I'd have told him to stay home til he's better. I'll never understand places like that....

Not true at all. It depends on your employer. My husband used to work at a warehouse and if you missed more than 3 days they could fire you no questions asked. It's legal because you sign a contract upon employment.

So even if you've missed three days and come in sick and they send you home, would they fire that person? I understand its under contract, but if someone is sick, they shouldn't be at work, they could get everyone else sick or cause more problems to their health. Some employers don't seem to think about that anymore. Heck, I basically got fired from my job bc I was pregnant, sick, and couldn't breathe bc there was no air flow and they hax me working in chemicals, knowing I was sick and couldn't breathe.

Yes, but they would never send someone home lol. I agree it's unfair, but they do it because so many people take advantage of their employers.

Has to be three days consecutively. Also FMLA is federal. It trumps any little contract they put in place. If it is an illness where a Dr note can be provided, it is illegal to fire anyone. Even in at will states and contracts. AZ is a right to work state. If I fired anyone because they were legitimately ill, I could be sued. They would win wrongful termination.

I was fired at 5 months pregnant with my twins because of the pregnancy. I was an idiot and kept all my documentation of conversations in my online files. My boss wiped my email, cleared my files and locked me out of my computer before he fired me. I was screwed. I couldn't prove it. Right to work state. I didn't need write ups to be fired. The ultimate smurffy, I worked there 4 years as the director of marketing and advertising. He fired his director to prevent having to pay maternity leave for 8 weeks. It was all vacation I had saved anyway. He had to pay it out when he fired me anyway. Douche bag. Lol did me a favor though. I would have never considered being a SAHM if he didn't. Best thing ever!!

They told him they didn't even care if one of our kids was in the hospital dying. He could not be out at all.

That's what I said. It's all stupid. My brother is going through the same thing. He has a 1 year old little boy who had to go to the hospital and he got a note for work and they told him it's not ok. One more time and hes fired too.
