vbac?

posted 28th Feb
My doctor recommends i try vbac (vaginal birth after c section). Ive done some research online and read the handouts she's given me but I'm having some mixed feelings about it. what are some of your thoughts/feelings/opinions on vbac? Or has anyone else had a vbac and what was the labor and recovery like?

Why did you have a cesarean?
If I make it to 36 weeks with no placenta probleproblems,
I'm going to try for a vbac.

i never had a c section but a vagional birth was not painful if u get an epidural it was fast and easy

I'd go with the VBAC, I had one and the recovery is different than from a c-section, but its much shorter/easier. Ultimately its up to you, but its great to know your doctor gives you an option, rather than just going with a repeat c-section automatically.

I'll be trying for a vbac with this baby. My first child was a csection due to fetal distress so I'm a candidate. Hopefully it goes well.

i had preeclampsia, he was facing up so he was stuck at 0, fetal distress and my water had been broken for over 21 hours so he was starting to poop.

i kinda would like to try vbac but there are a lot of pros and cons. she did mention that a uterine rupture during vbac is 1% (for me) so thats a lil helpful and it would be nice to have a quicker recovery since i have my 3 year old i need to take care of this time as well as a newborn.

My first child was vaginal, my second was twins and were c-section, my third I tried for a VBAC but ended but having a c-section due to fetal distress when I was 7 cm . I am currently pregnant again and would love to try to have another VBAC but it doesn't look good since I have had two c-sections. It's very hard to find a doctor who will let someone with two c-sections have a VBAC. I am so disappointed but we just want a healthy baby in the end.

I as induced at 36 weeks due to preeclampsia and was in labor foe 17 hours, I had my son via emergency cesarean and if I have the option I will absolutely be doing vbac.

so far no signs of preeclampisa so as long as everything keeps going well maybe i will try a vbac. only thing is they didn't know i had preeclampsia til i went into labor so hopefully it wont show up again.

If you had it your doctor should be watching for signs. I didn't know I had it until the day I wss induced, and no even my ob caught it. This time I'm being closely monitored. It is more common I your first pregnancy, but you are also at a higher risk if you've had it before.

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and doing great. My doctor recently told my she would let me try a vbac after having two c-section . My c-sections were 16 years apart and I had had a vaginal birth before my c-sections. All I can do is wait and see what happens.

I am 31 weeks and planning to Vbac. I was just getting on here to ask questions about this. I had my 1st vaginally, my 2nd csection 4 years ago. I was leaking and she just didn't want to come out. My dr says I am a great candidate, I just worry about my uterus rupturing where my scar is. How will I know if it happens in delivery? Especially since I will have an epidural?

I had a c-section with my oldest because he was breech. I have had three successful VBAC's since then and I would never choose an elective c-section. Recovery is 1,000 times easier with a vaginal birth, for me anyway. I'd urge you to try at least to have a VBAC. God bless!
