I take long weekends from time to time and 1 overnight once a month. That is what works for me. I was always invited to vacation with my family. When I was old enough (like highschool) it was up to me if I wanted to go which I always did. I just have never understood families that vacationed alone. Everyone can rest assured, I wont be showing up at their houses to judge them when they vacation with out their kids...do your thing, I personally dont understand it.

I agree parents do need a break and everyone can do as they please for me, a two week vacation away from my family does not feel like vacation.

So it's completely fine to go away from your kids for 3 or 4 days, but 6 or 7 days away, and you shouldn't have kids?
That makes sense.

Everyone could judge you for needing to be away from your kids every single month as well.. Just a thought.

I love our home dates, we watch movies we missed on Netflix, snuggle up on the couch or eat some new food. We are geeky so we also play video games lol. We had a home birth with our second, our daughter not being allowed in the hospital was one of our reasons for it. I understand not everyone can do that though, wish you good luck.

Well, if you think about it, that's 12 nights a year. Plus a couple long weekends that you take once in a while.
Someone who takes one vacation for two weeks without their kids is probably with their kids more than you are with yours. Just saying.

She obviously hates being a parent and hates her children for spending so much time away from them.

I never said "shouldn't have kids" I just want to be clear on that.

Because parents are individuals also. Not just mommy and daddy. They need their private time as well especially if they are married. A week would be too long for me at this time but a weekend or something would be great.

When I see the lady at Target scream at her 3y/o and call him a mother smurfer because he couldnt put his coat on by himself (sad but very true story) I say to myself...."This smurf shouldnt have kids" I wouldnt say "why did she have kids"
