Scared Shittless.

posted 10th Jun
So Thursday John and I are applying for our marriage license and tying the knot in a private ceremony next week. We haven't had sex since the day before Thanksgiving (personal decision to wait until we were married after finding out i was pregnant for religious reasons). After having Ailey, which resulted in a first degree tear encruing stitches, and not having sex for 7 months i am scared shittless to have sex. =/ lol i think i've 'forgotten' how haha...i was talking with my sister about it and she said "well since its been a while for him too maybe he'll only last a couple min. so even if it hurts it wont last very long'. i laughed forever..hahaha but seriously i'm sooo scared. anyone else have an extended amount of time in between pregnant sex and after birth sex?

Sweetie, it was about that long for me because of bedrest and a second degree tears after having my youngest, Drake. It was a little uncomfortable the first time, as things needed to stretch back out to accomodate him. But after a few times it's back to the good stuff lol But, seriously, the discomfort is not bad at all and goes away quickly :-)

I waited after the birth of our daughter for 7 weeks. It wasn't actually all that bad. I know its not as long as you have waited...but it was the most we had waited since we started having sex over a year ago.

There was a little pain as I'm not totally healed down there, but it wasn't so much that I couldn't enjoy it. I would say make sure you start out slow and let him know if it hurts. Try different positions (we had to) unti you find one that doesn't hurt.

If it continues to hurt though, just tell him and I'm sure he'll understand.

Congratulations on getting married... I'm jealous.

It's not excruciating and it's not the pain of losing your virginity. It's uncomfortable and you feel a little pulling but it isn't unbearable pain by any means.

Whoa.
7 months!? Thats impressive.

I think you will be OK. I had a third degree episiotomy and i was good for sex 5 weeks after birth. We were gentle, and there was almost no pain

I didn't have sex for 15 months. From the time my daughter was conceived til she was 6 months old.

I was terrified that it was going to hurt, but it didn't.

That's where you'll feel a stretch the most if you feel any at all. It'll be okay...I promise :-)

I didn't tear because I told my doctor if she thought I was going to, just to cut me instead. I had a 2nd degree episiotomy (sp).

Honestly, sex after wasn't that bad. It was a little tight and a little painful, but nothing major.

As I said before, just go slow and if it hurts try a different position. That's what we had to do. He started on top, but it was too much. So, I went on top and did the "work" and it was fine.

It'll be 10 months by the time I have sex again....

It shouldn't be TOO painful. If it is, I suggest stopping cause it shouldn't be horribly painful. Have you gone to see the doctor again already?

This may be a DUH question, but what's a 2nd degree and 3rd degree episiotomy??

The number is how bad it was... I'm not sure exactly how bad a 2 is compared to a 3 but I know that the higher the number the worse it is... I think it maxes out at 4.

Episiotomy just means cut, I believe... I know that's what the doctor did to me anyways. It was so that I didn't tear naturally down there.... some women that tear, tear side to side, some top to bottom and some do both side to side & top to bottom... I didn't want to risk that.
