Birthday food?

posted 28th Feb
What kind of foods would you have at a birthday party where you expecting a ton of people?

We are having a luau birthday party for my daughters first birthday in June. We are renting out an outdoor hut type of thing at our local lake (its like a beach). We are expecting around 70 people (20 are kids). I know that sounds like a crazy amount but that's all family who would be hurt if they weren't invited. They all came to my baby shower.

So I'm thinking pizza slices, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips & dips, veggies, fruit, cupcakes, cookies, and obviously cake.

Does that sound alright? I'm trying to choose inexpensive options that are outdoor friendly. I am trying to figure out a budget so I can have a couple of months to put money aside.

doesn't sound like a crazy amount of people to me, I have a huge family so there is always a minimum of 50 people at all of my child's events lol what you have planned for food sounds perfect. have fun!

Get some pineapple! But seriously you're list sounds good to me. I think you could get away with just hamburgers an hot dogs honestly. Or Hawaiian pizza!

Yup it ain't cheap to feed 70 people lol. If I don't start planning now when her birthday comes around I want have the money to throw it.

We booked the recreation room at the beach today. They were already almost booked for every weekend until August already

I'd do lots of fresh fruit, salads, maybe some sweet rolls or Hawaiian sliders, ham sandwiches etc because you are having luau theme.. but I think your options are all good.

At DD's birthday I did sweet + sour meatballs, fruit and veg with dips, pasta salad, cheese + crackers, cupcakes, these pineapple cream cheese things, pinwheels...
