starting to potty train next week

Next week i am gonna start potty training my 2 year old and any tips on how to start would be great. He has already gotten use to his little potty but now to actual start the whole process and im terrified i dont even know where to begin.

Big boy undies while he's awake in the house. STAY home for a couple of days at the start too.

if your son is anything like mine it'll be an up hill battle and then one random day smooth sailing...I had been potty training LO since his 2nd birthday but never really kept up with it because I didn't want to make him feel pressured into it. he was still in pull ups for most of the year and then one day randomly I decided he wasn't going to wear pull ups or diapers anymore and if he had to go to the bathroom it was going to be in the toilet..I let him run around the house naked and it actually worked...he would go in the potty and that night I let him sleep naked and no pee...no accidents for like 2 months...now it's February and he only has the occasional peeing accident in his bed and has had only 1 poop accident which I see as a huge accomplishment.

Just don't rush him into doing it. that's my only advice. let him wear underwear, explain to him that the toilet is where big boys go to potty and to let you know when he has to go....and patience!! lots and lots of patience!!!...good luck!

Also, let him know that he needs to keep his undies dry and clean! And NEVER punish or act negatively about an accident.
