Tattoos over stretchmarks?

Do they cover them well? Or are they still obvious?

depends on the design the amount the scars have healed and what color ink your using ...my artist is really good at cover ups and has done alot of tats over shrapnel scars some looked really freaking awesome...but you cant just get a tattoo of any kind it has to be designed just for you so the right ink color variations are put over your stretch marks since its not all the same tone

It's considered a scar and the skin is to thin.

I've heard a few different artist say that the ink won't take and depending on the tattoo can make your stretch marks more noticeable.

I would go look at pictures. If they are big my tattoo guy won't tattoo over them because the skin is so thin.

Omggg they look kinda fugly. I have teeny ones on my arms that I want covered with a half sleeve. Hopefully they're tiny enough that they'll be okay.

Yeah hopefully. I have a half sleeve but my arms are the one place I dont have stretch marks haha

I never thought I would have them there :[ I HATE it. I didn't get them until I got pregnant, it was almost immediately.

ummm....just no. OP, i def wouldnt do it. the stretch mark itself would probably look way better if you just didnt do anything. it makes the tattoo look so awkward and uneven

this is just one thing to show tho but like I said and the article says the ink coloring has to be very intensive and depends on the healing of the scar and you can see how the ink has to be a different shade because the scar is either thinner or thicker and a different color than your normal skin tone

It takes a good artist with experience in this kind of shading so your normal tat guy may not be able to do this
I have another one but its kinda TMI because it covers her entire stretch marks so it shows all the way down

just as a scar ...its the only way I can really explain the special coloring that has to be done to cover it correctly

I cant get the one with tmi but stretch mark cover up to show up tho
