pumping partners for milk dontation

posted 28th Feb
I dont think I have this in the correct forum but mabe someone on here is already do ing this and we can team up.
I am trying to possibly find a group on here or other ladies with this same idea so we can help support each other.
I want to EBF for this child especially considering how easy it was for me and my son...that being said protien allergys are genetic in my family and it ruined things for me and my son. I have decided tho after leaving my milk in the NICU for the other moms last time I want to pump for other people and donate milk even if my children cant have it. That being said the biggest issue was support I left the NICU and had no support what so ever or people to at least help me destress so I could pump at least and between that and my sons issues I was almost glad to quit . I want to find women on here or somewhere who want to do the same as me I surely cant be the only one wanting to pump for others and support each other thru this as much as possible even if its just online here any support is awesome and mabe it will help us stay with it better

How are you still breast feeding then?
I have heard of some people being able to still do so and its something I want to consider as well but most dr.s and such around here wouldnt even consider that
they encourage breastfeeding but unless it goes smooth right off the bat they push formula big time because its easier to measure intake and out put plus calories so its rather annoying

Cow's milk protein allergy or something more extensive including breastmilk itself?? You can just eliminate all things from your diet containing dairy and continue to bf if it's just to cow's milk... sometimes you have to eliminate soy too because it is very similar. But if it's more complicated than that it would be very hard! Great idea you have going though! I was happily pumping until mine were diagnosed with their allergy and I couldn't get it under control with diet changes. I would have continued had I known what to do with all the milk.... it was great for weight loss!!

No its not from cows milk he has the protien allergy from even breast milk he has to have the protien chains broke down to the smallest amino it can
I am the same but I cant drink most dairy anyway I can have cheese and ice cream and two percent milk but whole milk makes me sick I am lactose deterent but as a child before this allergy my mom just fed me solids a lil bit early and while it worked and we kind of did the same with my son knowing there is a good formula made to keep things safer than starting solids early...gotta love elecare...I have it all ready incase it happens again but I am just really hoping that since we have a few family members who didnt develop this as babies that my second may not ...I really would like to think since breastfeeding my son was so easy in the NICU that this will hopefully be the same but we shall see regardless tho I do still want to pump to donate as it would seem because I am great about food diary and some reason my milk is very easily accepted by the other NICU babies when I left it there last time so knowing that I have something great like that to offer and the ease it could make for other moms and the babies who cant even have elecare its just hard on me because this is one of the few things that for some reason support really matters to me and my supply idk why
