Rice cereal in formula...

My sister recommended that I put rice cereal in my sons bottle before I put him to sleep so he'd sleep better at night.. Has anyone ever done this?? How much rice cereal do I put if he drinks 5 oz.?

Total bullsmurf. Bad for baby. When they are ready for solids they will be able to sit up and eat from a spoon or their hands. Don't do this stupid smurf unless your doctor recommends it for severe reflux to keep formula down. It won't make baby sleep longer.

It actually can make them hungrier as you're expanding their stomach with the rice cereal. It doesnt work to help them sleep and it is a choking hazard.

No, choking hazard. And if you're baby isnt ready for it it will keep them up all night with a sore tummy.

Well, she may not be an idiot, but she's either a) uneducated on the risks or b) old-fashioned. Either way, it's not a good idea. Babies wake up at night. That's just what they do. Learn to live with it.

MYTH!! Your child will not sleep better because of cereal! Don't unless under the recomendation of Doctor for AR. My son is on cereal but only due to his AR and it doesn't help him sleep it just helps hold his food down!

Your kid is what 6 weeks. Do some research of your own. Ask for childs doctor. Do 1 google search and find hundreds of articles on why its a bad idea.
