SO was being a super smurf tonight.

I have a huge anatomy test tomorrow that I wanted to study more for tomorrow, so I asked him to just hangout with DS while I studied. Not even an hour of them being together, LO was sooooo tired. So, I get him in his room, in his nighty, make the bottle and ask SO to put him to bed and change his diaper.

I asked "why can't you do it so I can clean up his toys and get back to my studying." His only response was "I don't feel like changing his diaper."

wtf? whatever. I do it, and by the time I'm done changing his diaper, LO was done the bottle. I go back to studying, and after 15-20 minutes DS is still hungry, I shoot SO a text asking him to make 2 more ounces to get him to bed.

SO's response "I'm watching my show, can't you do it?"

WTF!? soo basically he just felt like being a lazy smurf and didn't want to do anything tonight. I get that he works, but I work too! I go to school all morning, come home, feed, play and change LO, get him for a nap, get him up, feed him, play, change etc. make dinner, do the laundry, clean the house, clean up dinner. all that smurf.

SO comes home from work, naps for 2 hours, all he has to do is play with LO for 45 minutes, and acts like it's a huge deal that I ask him to put him to bed when I do it every single night without any complaints.

sorry for the stupid vent, I was just aggravated that one the ONE day I ask for his help so I can get in some more studying, he wants to be lazy as smurf./

Just because he works isn't an excuse. It is his baby too! He needs to pitch in more. How often do you get to take a two hour nap? Probably NEVER! >.< Sounds like a butthole to me.

Exactly. I hope SO doesn't get that way when she's born. He's really involved with the pregnancy, though. It doesn't have to be men that are the lazy ones in the relationship. I've known some women that I just want to punch because they don't attempt to do anything! Seriously, though. Tell your SO to give you a break. Sounds like you deserve it

Oh he is, he's a great dad. Just certain days he's lazier than others.

You're not a SAHM though, school is like a FT job too, PLUS you take care of Logan all day..... he needs to suck it up!!!

I only said something cuz YOU were being sarcastic but when someone posts a rant that their husband is being unsupportive and unhelpful and someone responds "men," that is reassuring the OP that all men are this way and she shouldn't expect improvement. So maybe to you it is sarcasm, but to someone in a vulnerable position, it can mean something totally different.

Not ALL men are like that and I shouldn't have said "men" and generalized them ALL together. I wish he would have helped you. Maybe sitting him down and explaining how you feel when you're both not irritated might help a little.
