Incontinent almost 5 year old

posted 27th Feb
Cora has been potty trained since she was 3.5 years old. No accidents during the day or night. I can literally count her accidents on one hand.

Over teh past year, she has been "squirting". A little dribble of pee. Not a full on accident. It ranges from a few drops, to something noticible

She doesn't stop when she dribbles. She just keeps going like nothing happened and if I point it out, she gets pissed. I'm sure she is embarassed

She's seen the doc about it. No UTI's, no infections of any kind, her kidneys are fine, etc etc etc

The don't doesn't know what is going on. It doesn't happen every day or even every week. But it's enough that it bothers me.

What do you think? What is the next step? Is this a normal part of "after potty training"?

Some kids get too caught up in what they are doing to stop and go to the bathroom

I'd go with that except that it is usually right after she goes to the bathroom. I almost wonder if she isn't emptying her bladder all the way and the last few drops "force" their way out

thats most likely it. have her sit on the toilet a little bit longer to be sure she empties her bladder

It just frustrates me. She just sits in it and doesn't care.

Can you get her to sit down and sing the ABC song? That'll insure she'll stay in there for a while, possibly long enough to finish..
