Is this tacky? [birthday party question]

Is to write a few of his likes and such on the invite?

I wouldn't but that's just my personal opinion. If they ask that's when you should provide them with a list..

On the invitation, it's tacky. If they ask, it's no problem.

Why not do invitations using his Favorite character for example.. My friends daughter had a Dora invite and almost everyone bought her Dora gifts

I wouldn't. I like gifts to be personal.

you can have him create a registry of things he likes, and then include a registry card in the invite. Honestly, I'd rather someone tell me what their kid wants. It makes things so much easier, and I'd probably end up calling to ask anyway.

i wouldnt, if anything id put the size clothes and shoes he wears but thats it

See thats what happened last year. A lot of people asked me what he was into. And I wanted to do it on the invite this year, so they have an idea.

I always did when she was younger because most the people coming didn't know her well or were adults with grown children so they had no idea what to get anyways, I just put a small list at the very bottom of the invite saying "Gifts are not required but if you are in the gifting mood" and put her favorite interests and colors to give them a little help

Or just make an insert and throw that into the invites for certain people?
I make an Amazon registry for Grey for Christmas and birthday and I just know certain family members want to know what he wants specifically so those people I send the lit to

I don't think it's tacky, we always get asked what our kids need, what size they wear, etc. If we put it on the invite it would make things much easier.

Its only going to only be his classmates, my mom and her fiance. And of course my mom and rick know what he likes.
