violent sleep disorders.

Sooo my husband likes to do jujitsu on me in my sleep. Usually just puts me in some crazy hold and then I just have to tap out and tell him to wake up and he laughs it off with me. But he's done other things too like eating used condoms out of the trash. Acting like a monkey. Or rolling off the bed army style and creeping down the hallway (in his dream we are at war) Well last night he up and socked me HARD in my jaw. Enough is enough. I can't get hurt in my sleep any more. Not funny at all. I'm preggo. What if he hurts the baby? Soooo I'm not sleeping with him anymore. He got his feelings really hurt about it. Why doesn't he get that he could really hurt me or worse!? I think he needs to go to get checked out. But I'm almost betting he'll do the tough guy "I'm fine" attitude and turn it into me just not wanting to sleep with him. I loooove him so much but seriously!? How is this one MY fault!? He's always the first to say sorry... but I have a feeling after last night he won't be.

My ex was like that. He would have dreams almost every night that he was fighting people and would start swinging in his sleep and punching smurf. He did the same "Oh they are just dreams" why would anyone think it's normal to have such violent dreams, and why would you want to?

I think you should suggest he go to a sleep center. I would just explain to him that whether he thinks its a problem or not, you do feel that it's a problem. You do not like not feeling safe sleeping with him, but you don't feel safe. Tell him that it's effecting your sleeping pattern, you don't feel safe in your own bed, and that you know it's not his fault but that you would like it to change.

I think if you can tell him how it's effecting you negatively you will have a better shot of him getting treated.

Eating used condoms? Punched you in the face? He needs to be seen by a medical professional.

LOL! Yes. the condoms was hilarious! I woke up and he was on all fours over the waste basket with one hanging out of his mouth.

Watching... I just started having wild action dreams and wake up with sore muscles, like I have been working out. I even started yelling in my sleep. Enough to wake everyone up....

Dh has issues like that. They started after boot camp. Once he jumped over the half wall at the top of the landing and yelled, " they are trying to kill us. Don't move. I will get them." He then attacked me on the bed.

He has told me in his sleep that he hates me and wishes we never would have gotten together. That he wanted a divorce. I have been punched several times and thrown off the bed. He never remembers any of it and refuses help.

Does he have PTSD? Yeah, he needs to see someone ASAP!! I'm sorry, that's really a dangerous situation and I have no idea what I would do  ...GL!

No! He has had such a safe sheltered life with the best parents you could ask for. Nothing traumatic has happened to him. He did want to be in the marines but was home schooled (and cheated) so he couldn't pass the test that's required. He REALLY wants to go to war and seeks adventure. He's not a violent person either... He just really wants to be a hero. I hope he takes this well... it would be sad if he gave up on us over this.

He got out in December. It has gotten a little better since then but I still prefer sleeping alone. We try once in a while if he is ready to sleep next to me again but it usually ends up with me moving out to the couch.

  Hope it changes for you! This is just so sad! I understand his hurt... but where's the logic? I have to be safe. And it hurts me too... wish there was an easy answer here.
