Pay it forward??

My husband went with our son to his therapy appt, and dropped me at Costco with the girls. I brought $700 for groceries and spent all but three dollars. Come to find out while they were ringing me up my membership expired a month ago. We had a huge refund coming from them also, that somehow hasn't made its way to us yet, so when my husband arrived to get is and our two carts from Costco we tried desperately to figure out a way to renew (as it is such a hassle to put the groceries back). Our renewal fee was $110. We couldn't figure it out and just as we were about to have someone help us unload some items, our checker paid for our renewal without telling us! I want to do something for this person, but I don't think I can just come in and hand them over money while they are on the clock...

What should I do?


I have never had a stranger just fork over that kind of money. I am utterly speechless...

Wow! That is awesome! Just be thankful. I'm sure the person expects nothing in return. Just do something for someone else when given the chance.

Pay it forward to someone else. I wish I were on my computer so I could send a link of different ideas people have done. My entire class decided for a volunteer project to do something as a group instead of individual projects. We decided to help a growing homeless shelter by donating items to them. It has been a huge success. Also I'm sure the person who helped you out would rather see you help someone else out. Could be as simple as giving a random kid $5 or putting nice notes on people's cars..things like that.

Customer Service told me my checker payed for it. I still can't believe it. Just got back from a pack meeting, so sorry I bolted from my own thread!

That's great! I would write a letter to his manager about how wonderful he is.
