Weaning off the pacifier

Well, my daughter is 3 and she only gets it mostly at night but tonight we lost them & she's having a fit & has been crying for 20 minutes.

How long did it take your child, to go to sleep without one ??

Mine had an addiction to the bottle and it took 5 nights for her to forget.

My son was 2 when we got rid of his. Cold Turkey

It took 3 nights for him to forget about it and move on. He instead went to his security blanket

How long did it take for him, to get to sleep the first night ??

This is how my middle son gave his up. He only used his paci at bedtime. Not long after his 2nd birthday while tucking him in I told him that "the pacifiers are for babies and now that he is 2 years old he isn't a baby anymore so in 7 days he will need to give up his baby pacifier and then he will be a big boy!"   (Said with super excitement!) Then the next night at bedtime I said the same thing except I said "in 6 days..." I did that countdown every night and then on the last night I said "Well, tonight is your last night with your paci..." he said "I know".

He woke up the next morning running towards me with his paci in his outstretched hand yelling "I'M A BIG BOY!" and he never asked for it again.

Aww, that's a great way to do it, wish I thought to do it like that.

My daughter actually just fell asleep but she chewed on her blanky. Lol

Is that good or bad ??

She went to sleep. That's great!   Every child is different, maybe tonight was a little tough on her, but each night will likely get easier and easier for her. She may cry herself to sleep for a few night, but don't cave. You see she can do it
