Anterior placenta

posted 26th Feb
For anyone who knows or has experienced it. This is my first pregnancy and I have an anterior placenta at how many weeks should I feel the baby move?

It will still vary from person to person and pregnancy to pregnancy. But I didn't feel mine until between 23-26 weeks approximately. And even then it was just flutters here and there.

It really depends on exactly where your placenta is located. Usually between 20-24, possibly as late as 28 weeks.

In a first time mom, it's not that much earlier...still 20-24, as late as 28 weeks. There are a lot of factors that determine when a mom-to-be feels her baby move and kick.

My first was posterior and I felt movement at 16 weeks.
This time its anterior and I felt movement really low around 24 weeks. Now it doesn't make a difference. I feel him almost everywhere now.

Oh ok I didn't know that. I hear a lot of moms even first time say 16-18 weeks but I guess there were other factors involved

This is my last pregnancy and I have an anterior placenta. It's the first one I have had and I have had 4 other pregnancies. I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and hardly feel my baby move. I only really feel it when he rolls. The specialist said it would be around 24 weeks before I really felt more movement. The placenta acts like a pillow between the baby and abdominal wall. During my last ultrasound my little guy was kicking the heck out of the placenta and I didn't feel a thing. It can also be harder to hear the heart beats when listening for it by doppler.

I didn't feel mine move until 22 weeks. Never felt "flutters" just little kicks that got harder eventually. The good thing was it blocked alot of the hard kicks they said I would've felt and would have kept me up at night.

So I have a while to go : / I'm 15 weeks. I didn't even know the placenta could implant anywhere but the back lol well now I know. At my 12 week nt scan they were able to hear the heart perfectly and the tech nor my doc mentioned my placenta being anterior which I found a little odd but it was on the paper they gave me about the results of my scan.

I felt her at exactly 20 weeks. I don't feel her all the time so I don't know if I can ever do kick counts. Sometimes I only feel her a few times a day sometimes I feel her all day. I'm 23w3d now.
