re: Anterior placenta

posted 26th Feb
I never had an anterior placenta with any of my other pregnancies either. So, to have one this time around is a new experience as well. Honestly, it hasn't stopped me from feeling anything at all. I've been feeling my little Monkey move since about 16 w 3 days.

screen shot of my ultrasound video. You can see his little foot and the big blob above it is my placenta.

now that he is bigger I feel everything, but probably not as strong. The places my placenta isn't, I can feel STRONG, like my hips.. ouch.

From everything I have read having an anterior placenta doesn't cause any serious issues . I have read it can be harder to heart the heartbeats due the baby sometimes hiding behind it. I have a home doppler and sometimes have a hard time find the heartbeat cause the placenta is in the way.The placenta also moves the up as your pregnancy progresses or so I have been told. I think this is why women don't feel movement till later when the placenta moves and the baby gets bigger then the placenta,

Well for an anterior you started feeling pretty early. Maybe asthe bay gets bigger it will be more consistent. U are already feeling baby every day so that's a good sign

I have also been told the anterior placenta could be more to right or left. Mine seems to be right in the middle   I really want to feel every kick and punch. I have had some complications with this pregnancy and feeling movement would help easy our minds. This my last pregnancy and the second with my new husband and our son wants to be difficult. I really cant wait till my hubby can feel our baby move more often. He has only felt him move 2 so far.

I understand. But your baby will be ok since it's your last baby just wanted to make it a little more memorable lol. Soon enough your baby will be in your arms.

I didn't feel anything until 24weeks, and that was the slightest little pops here and there. At 28 weeks I felt her all the time  I totally get what you mean about missing out, it felt soooo long to wait to feel her. And I was so worried i never would! LOL

It does feel like forever im only 15 weeks it feel like I have to wait an eternity before I feel the baby I seen bouncing around in sonograms. But im just glad things seem to become more normal towards the end and we get to feel them everyday.
