Would like some input *mirena/preg*

I have the Mirena IUD inserted. I've had sex during the week of the 27th in December, and on the 9th of February. I never had a period after I got the Mirena inserted past the initial bleeding period. It's been almost a year since I've had it inserted also. Just the other day, I'll say early last week around the 18th I noticed brown spotting while I wiped and in my panties and it coincided with cramping and stomach pains that have continued to linger. I've also gained TEN POUNDS in less than 3 weeks, I weigh myself regularly but don't keep track of the dates. I've been sleeping a lot more lately and dreaming vivid dreams, which I rarely remember my dreams. I'm constipated, light headed, head aches, sensitive breasts, back pain, bloated, emotionally sensitive, pretty much ALL of the same pregnancy symptoms that occurred with my first pregnancy. But, I bought a pregnancy test today and the second line was very faint but not noticeable so I went to a pregnancy clinic to get a free pregnancy test after I visited my psychiatrist because I don't want to fill my prescription if I turn out to be pregnant, and it was negative. I don't know if I'm simply not far along enough yet for it to detect the hcg hormones but I've also scheduled an appt with my OB for tomorrow to have the iud examined and test for pregnancy. I just literally feel pregnant and it's freaking me out to no end.

I mean, is it normal to feel these symptoms out of the blue with the mirena even after months of not having any? I can still feel the end of the strings with it but I can't tell if it has moved or anything. So I guess what I'm asking is if I should keep testing even if tomorrow's pregnancy test is negative also, or if I should just request a blood test instead of urine.

I've had pregnancy symptoms a few times with mine and never turned up pregnant, but it is possible to get pregnant on it. I tested until the symptoms went away, for peace of mind. Good luck! I hope you're not pregnant and it's just the Mirena being wonky.

What kind of test did ypu take? The clinic test might not be as sensetive. I think you should get a FRER and see what it says, thencall your OB or something.but i have heard a lot of women on here say they felt pregnant with mirena

Pregnancy symptoms are actually pretty common with Mirena. Between that and the lack of period, I test every now and then just to make sure. Mine has been in almost 4 years.

The first one was just a dollar test and the second was a urine test in a clinic

Maybe you had an evap on the firat test? Get a better test and test again. Go from there. If its negative i bet you are just experincing side efcts from mirena...

Maybe the test you took at the clinic was negative because it was later in the day? When I was pregnant I had to go to the ER and they told me the test came back negative but I was actually pregnant. But I had also just drink a lot of liquids with dinner and such.

It sounds to me like you are, just from my own personal experience. But it could possibly be the Mirena giving you the symptoms. I get pregnancy symptoms once in a while on mine but never as many as you listed. I usually just get crampy, spotting, bloated and tired. My boobs never get tender and I haven't gained any weight. I hope everything works out for you!

I've had my mirena nearly a year as well & having the same things happen, I don't think i'm pregnant but haven't tested, it's been going on the last couple months.
