tummy bug

while i was at work yesterday, my fiance texted me and told me that our son threw up everything he ate..that was around four. i got home at 9 and put him in the tub because he also had a low grade fever, and as soon as i took him out of the tub he threw up there more times. we decided to take him to the hospital..he threw up at the hospital around 10. we stayed at the hospital for a good four hours and they just monitored him and gave him pedialyte..he didnt throw up at all last night or this morning, i just gave him some jello and he spit it up a little. how long should i wait to give him food like toast, crackers and all the brat diet stuff? im a first time mom, and he has never been sick like this, so im not sure what to do. the hospital told me jello and crackers, but i don't think he can stomach the jello right now. they also gave him zofran for vomiting, but he is under two so they said try to limit the intake of the medicine.
