What are his chances??

I'm wonder what my husbands chances are of getting cancer. And even my daughter for that matter. I'm not sure what types of cancer are genetic or what. I know there are different kinds. But his mom has cancer and from his moms side... 2 of her sisters, 5 of her cousins, 2 or her nephews, and her mom. And his dad died of cancer but I'm not sure he knows any of his dads side of the family.
As for my family, only my great aunt on my moms side and her husband, but he's not blood related. And then my great grandma on my dads side.
I think about it alot :/ I'm a worry bug though. He's still pretty young, 33, but his dad got cancer when he was in his 50's. But I'm only 21, I can't imagine losing him so fast, but I know it's nothing I should be worrying about now.
But does anyone know the chances? Or things to help avoid cancer?? Aside from the obvious... Drinking, smoking, ect.

What types of cancer did his family members pass from?
The best thing to do is get an annual physical and make sure he's in good health. That way if something does come up by getting checked annually hopefully they would catch it early and the cancer wouldn't be advanced.

Well what the recent studies are showing is that the Cancer that is genetically passed is Childhood, adolescent cancers. Usually if people get cancer when older it is from environmental causes.

I know on his moms side at least two that have cancer from head to toe. And his dad had colon cancer. And his mom has cancer in her neck I think.... I don't know if that's a type.

Especially with his dad having colon cancer I would urge him to get an annual colonoscopy.
As far as the "head to toe" cases, do they know where it started? Lots of times it starts in a certain place, like the lungs and then spreads.
My aunt was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2010. She had waited so long to go in and get checked that it had already progressed to stage 4 and had spread to her spine and lymph nodes.

That's encouraging. I know his dad was a drug addict and his mom eats horribly (no veggies or good food, just pastries, fast food, soda, ect) and Hardly ever gets out of bed, except to use the bathroom and go to doctor appointments. She is perfectly capable, just lazy!! She has heart problems too.
But DH is training to be an MMA fighter (not fight professionally, just train to be strong, get the body, and be healthy.... And fight good I guess) and he eats really good and healthy.
As for his family on his moms side I'm not sure about there life styles becaus they all live in Michigan and St. Louis . But if they are a thing like his mom any food they cook if FRIED. Yuck! Even Tomatos!

Yeah I'm not sure where the cancer started. But I guess that would be a good thing to look into to. Also his grandpa on his dads side died of lung cancer due to smoking.
I'm not sure if a healthy life style can prevent cancer, but at least a healthy life style won't give you heart problems.
I have heart problems, but it's nothing genetic. I had 2 overdoses and because of it had heart failure, and lung issues, and minor kidney and liver damage. I was on life support for a week.
