I feel like my kid is sick of me

posted 26th Feb
I stay home with DS. He's 20 months old. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and I don't have any energy or patience so I'm certainly not "fun" mommy anymore. DH is in the field all week so it's just DS and I. It's been raining and we are both getting over head colds. Just a genuinely crappy week for us here. I feel like DS is tired of me. He won't cuddle and seems disinterested when I try and play with him. He's also been acting out a bit. Throwing his toys and smashing things around. He's being very picky with his meals this week too... I can't tell if I'm over reacting or if he really is sick of me. He loves his daddy so much I know not seeing him this week has been hard (DH left Sunday morning at 4am). Anyone have any suggestions? Do you think it's just the head cold and him missing his daddy?

It could be the cold and Daddy thing, maybe try and get him out of the house for a bit, go play at a play ground or go to the library for story time

I don't want him to get anyone else sick so we've been avoiding play dates. But I took him for a long walk along the water Sunday... then yesterday we went to the store. Today it's raining and smurffy out again so we are limited to what we can do. I was thinking about taking him to a bounce house place today but idk if he's well enough yet. it's a very frustrating situation   We go out just about every day of the week normally, mostly because I hate sitting in this house.

My son acts like that right now, I'm 32 weeks pregnant. I felt around in his mouth and it kind of feels like his 2 year molars are starting to come in. I've been making him some fruit smoothies and I think the cold helps him feel better. When he's really cranky we'll do something special that he loves or give him a special snack or treat.

I think it might be tooth pain too. He started crying when he ate his banana earlier. Idk what is wrong with him but I hope it gets better soon. I'm so exhausted I could die lol

Glad to know I'm not alone! I give up trying to get anything done, in hopes that someday soon I'll have a burst of energy. I hav been putting the gate up in my son's room and leave him to play for up to an hour so I can relax, take a shower, in peace. It helps.
Anyway, I wish the molars would hurry up. It's been like 3 weeks and none have come out yet. He did really good with all his other teeth, but his other molars were pretty bad. I'm going to try ibuprofen to see if it helps. Do you have any family around who can take him? My inlaws take him about once a month for an overnight, it's heavenly!

I feel you mama! My son's molars are all in (he's missing his vampire teeth though, idk the technical term for them) but they took 3 MONTHS to all fully come in. So you might have a while of hell ahead of you
No family. Closest family is 400 miles away.
