I would go ahead and do it because he hasn't had one doesn't mean he won't have them say 3 weeks after his perspective surgical date. And a wait from November to March is a long ass time to wait just to cancel an appt

I don't know about ear infections but I do know that I used to get constant strep throat infections and I went to see an ENT and was told I would benefit from getting my tonsils removed and after that appointment they seemed to get less and less and I never needed them out! So, I would say if he seems to be doing better then talk to a doctor or don't and go off your gut feelings. Is it a permanent thing? If it's not then maybe go through with it..

I'd do it. My oldest son had to have them put in. His ears weren't draining the fluid from his ear infections for months and it messed up his hearing and speech. After the tubes and a little bit of speech therapy he was fine. Just because there isn't a current ear infection doesn't mean that he won't get another one or that the fluid is draining properly after one clears up.

I completely understand. I was a nervous wreak about it but my son was so good about it. He was more happy about getting to eat ice cream then he was upset about surgery, lol. It's not as awful as you'd think.

Have you ever brought him to a chiropractor?

I would go ahead with it. Too many ear infections can and will damage their hearing. And it sounds like you had a long wait for a surgery date, I wouldn't want to risk waiting again. My DD had tubes when she was 17 months old.

DS was the same, he didnt get an infection for 4 weeks or so before his op.. i was going to cancel because i thought he was back to normal & when he got his op done the surgeon said they sucked TONS of thick fluid out of his ear drums which is why he was so deaf - failed the hearing test miserably.

its only a small procedure & it'll be worth it if it stops them from getting infected in the future.

Tubes improved my DDs speech 1000%. It was like she could hear some sounds for the first time. She had 14 ear infections between 4 months and 17 months when she got the surgery.

My younger brother was delayed with speech and then caught up immediately after he got tubes. I hope it helps everything  .
