really?!

Does anyone else watch 6 Little MaGhees? they took their kids to the zoo but she's having a fit because the father has one of the kids in barn and something about germs. i freak over germs but what's the point of taking them to a petting zoo thing if they don't get to pet anything!? Would you let your LO(s) pet the animals? at what age? these kids are like 2.

We went to the zoo when DD was about 4 months old. I think we tried to get her to pet some of the animals in the petting zoo area. I made sure to wash her hands off right afterwards, though.

see! just make sure their hands are clean after and they don't stick them in their mouths...

It depends. My daughter can't be around animals until her asthma is 100% under control. I mean that could be the case with one of her kids.

nope she said it was purely because of germs. she ended up letting a couple of them pet a turtle though and was proud of herself for letting them. i was just like "and look how tickled that baby is that she got to pet the turtle!"

I would love to take my daughter to a petting zoo. I would be panicking in my head that it might go crazy and attack, but that is because I am nuts haha. I wouldn't let it interfere withy daughters experience though, but I wouldn't be worrying about the germs. I would wash her hands after but that's it.

this is me! like at one point he sat the little boy down around a bunch of goats. i was like "now that i can see getting in a twist over." because i know they have a habit of charging and headbutting. but if it was something else it might be different. i grew up on a farm though.

Ahhh yea I'm hoping A's asthma is 100% controlled this summer so we can go to the zoo! I want to so bad!

yeah. For you guys, i hope so too! DH's cousin lives next door and he has 2 horses, i can't wait to get DD on one..

At 2 DS was chasing cows and trying to ride miniature donkeys, lol.

That is rather pointless. Why take your child to a petting zoo if you're worried about them petting the animals.

i think it was actually and actual zoo but had a petting zoo in it. and that's funny about your DS!

Omg I would love that! I just want her to have fun this summer but if she isn't 100% then I guess I have no choice.

He's fearless, I swear it. Well either way, it's not that big of a deal, IMO.

Bring some hand sanitizer or bring some hand soap with a water bottle next time, or just avoid it all together lol.

DH and I are very into letting DS get dirty, it's what being a kid is all about. Exploring, making a mess, and basically being a walking sticky germ lol.

i'm sorry. maybe she'll be better. or you can find some animals that don't bother her asthma?

i have a feeling once DD is walking, she'll be the same way. i'm working on letting her get dirty.
