Hair help?

My friend wants me to do highlights in her hair. She wants a blonde color. I'm going to use the wella brand color. I plan to go to beauty school so practice makes perfect sooo my question is what toner and volume do I use on her?

Honestly, and don't take this the wrong way, but if you don't even know what toner and volume to use, then maybe she should have someone else do it. Bleaching/highlights are VERY VERY easy to mess up, one wrong ingredient can fry someone's hair. Don't use your friend's hair as a guinea pig... have her go to a professional. The money she would spend would be well worth the smaller percentage of her hair getting messed up.

And like I said, this isn't about me trying to make fun of you or jump you or anything, but bleaching hair needs to have someone with some experience do it. It's easy to have it come out looking bad.

I say that if you haven't gone to cosmetology school yet, then go buy a highlighting kit in a box and use that. Using the toners and such without accurate knowledge and practice could mess your friend's hair up.

I've done it once before on my sister in law a long time ago and don't remember.

Yeah, your best bet may be to just not do it then. I've done it a good few times, but I have very resilient hair, and I know how to fix any errors I may make, and it's my hair, I'm the only one who'd have to live with it, lol. My mom's a licensed cosmetologist, and she taught me the ropes about colors, dyes, and bleaching hair.

I'm WAY more of a make-up person.
I love it and could work magic...it's just hair is more complex. Makeup washes off...anddddd hair doesn't lol. She's trying to save a buck and I said I would help her out..
Just using boxes makes me cringe lol.

Yeah, she's going to end up frying her hair to save a buck if she's not careful, lol. I can do color all day every day, but I can't really style it too much, I straighten it or curl it and leave it down, and I'm just learning in the last few years how to really do makeup.

I've done her make up before just not hair. Lol make up is so much easier and I loveeee just making a woman feel sexy haha

I would seriously show her some highlights gone wrong on youtube and show her what can happen when someone who isn't a pro or trained to do this, TRIES to do it. It can be pretty disastrous.

I wish I was really good at makeup, lol. I never bothered learning until I got with SO.
