How did you know

posted 25th Feb
How did you know you were ready for baby #2? My daughter is 3 and I know I want another one, but i guess im a little scared. I guess I'm mostly afraid about how it'll effect her. I'm scared about not having as much time with her and how she'll handle that. She loves other kids, so I know she'd love a sibling. I'm also scared about pregnancy again. I was so worried the first time around. Any advice?

DH told me he was ready.
I never wanted kids, so when we had them was up to him. As long as we could afford it.

I just knew. DH and I talked about it for a little bit and decided that it was a good idea. We got pregnant the week my son turned one.
Now thinking about adding another baby (#3) is something we have to talk about for a loooong time. lol

I didn't.
I got pregnant and HAD to be ready. Lol.
We planned our 4th and 5th pregnancy. The 4th one failed...
Anyways, I knew we were ready for another because we were financially stable, we were happy, we both wanted a baby, and we thought the kids could handle having another sibling.

There isn't ANY perfect time to have a baby. Something always creates hurdles. It's whether or not you have the means to overcome any hurdles that are thrown in front of you that matters.

I think ANY kid can adjust to having another sibling, regardless of age. In my opinion, the sooner the better... because it's less time that they have to get used to being the center of attention. My daughter was 3 when our youngest was born and she did fine. She adores him. I worried about her being jealous since she wouldn't be "the baby" anymore... but she did just fine.

DH and I had talked about it 3 months after I had a miscarriage...we weren't going to TTC until LO was 3-3 and a half and then we found out I was pregnant...we were excited because we both wanted another baby but it was totally unplanned since our son was still only 2 and a half!....granted it works out for us because he just turned 3 and that'll be the perfect age I think for him to become a big brother!..

Well I'm not currently TTC but i do know then when i AM ready it'll be because i have a stable job, a home, and i can afford both DD and the new baby. I also know that has much as i would love 2 children close in age, i wouldn't be able to handle it. I also want DD to have all of my time when she's little so that she doesn't get lost in the process of adding to the family. My pregnancy with her was a whirl wind between the million appointments for my diabetes. I want her to be old enough to understand first whats going on.

My daughter is 16, we just started to TTC.

I had my daughter young. So, I wanted to make sure I did some of the things that I wanted to do when I was younger but couldn't.

I finished 4 degrees, got married, bought a house, found a career, saved money....it was a long list, but totally worth it.

I'm content with my life. If I don't end up pregnant, I don't feel as though something would be missing.

We knew we wanted to have another little one, but we weren't "ready" to try until sometime this year. Our son is five, turning 6 in November. We knew we could not handle more than one in diapers and then kept putting trying off. We recently started with the "if it happens it happens" motto, and got a BFP this month!
But, we just knew this year would be a good year to try! If you wait until everything plays out the way you want it to, you will never be ready. However, if you know that you are in no position to have another- please wait, its best.

we are going to start trying again for our 2nd a month or so before our LO turns 1. I'm not worried about them being close in age since I do have PCOS and that could hinder how long it takes for our 2nd to happen. I'm just worried my current LO won't be on a good sleeping schedule by the time #2 came so i'd be fully sleep deprived!
