confused on what to do

The GI wants to put a feeding tube in my son (he has EoE). He is very tiny 4yrs old 38" and just 28lbs. My DH doesn't agree with it. I am more for than against. DH claims he is going to the next appt and refusing to let them. My question is if he does so can they call cps and can we get into trouble for it? This has caused a lot on tension in our marriage.

maybe ask the doc to make a pro vs con list about it and see what's best for him then??

I have no idea what EoE is or what effects it has, but my 4 year old is 32lbs and I was told hes average. Can they not add a supplement like ensure or perhaps a prescription supplement?

Unfortunately this is not an easy situation. If one parent is for a procedure, and one is against, sometimes the court system has to get involved and a guardian ad litem assigned to protect the rights and do what is best for the CHILD. It's even harder when the parents are still married. I don't know what to say because I don't know what EoE is and so have no information on it at all, but all I CAN say is Good Luck to you and your son.

ad for the cps, well if your doc think your endangering your lo s life by not going through with it then he might call them but I dont think you ll be in trouble imo

Theres a link on my profile to the description of his disorder. He more or less is afraid of food due to his body attacking i t self when he eats. He throws up multiple times everyday. No real treatment since he has the non allergenic form.

id be scared of eating too in his situation. poor little guy. I hope his condition will get better in the future

He has been diagnosed as failure to thrive. Thats why i am for it. Dh doesnt really see what i do from my son. He works a lot so i deal with 90 % of the issues. He just flipped when i mentioned the tube.

If your son's esophagus is hardening, and he's bleeding, then a feeding tube might be his best option. Does your husband FULLY understand what is going on with your son's health?

I hope so too but sadly the doctor said he will probably always have food issues. But thank you.

I dont think so. As much as i tell him. He only sees that he is still active and to him active=healthy

your dh needs to realise there s clearly more to it than he wants to admit. does he know how hard it is on your son?

does he know what you ve been dealing with everyday?
he maybe needs to hear it from your little boy s mouth to fully understand how hard it is for him

He sees the struggle to get him to eat. His entire caloric intake for past 3days has been 1150. I and my son normally end up in tears from trying to force him to eat
