Cakeeee!

posted 25th Feb
I've seen this on Pinterest and baking shows, so I thought I'd try this trick to make a boxed cake taste like a bakery cake. Used it making a spice cake today and oh..my..god..it's delicious. I'm never making an ordinary boxed cake again.

All you do is...
Add one extra egg
Use milk, not water
Use double the amount of melted butter instead of oil
Bake at the temp and time on the box

Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.

I will have to try that! I am making my daughter birthday cake for her party this year instead of buying one

I'm a cake snob. If I have to use a box because of time, I always doctor it up. If its a chocolate cake, I use coffee instead of water (you will not taste coffee but it will taste richer).
I add extracts, zest and other spices.
