Are breathable bumper pads worth buying?

DS loves sleeping by the rail for some reason so I'd rather have them so he doesn't get caught or something.

i dont want to go without but the breathable seem like there isn't much to them wasnt sure if if it helped anything.

It depends on te child really. My two oldest kids had no issues with no bumpers of any kind. They never got there limbs stuck however my third did so I borrowed the breathable from a friend. He's a year old now and the bumpers are pretty much pointless at this point since he can push them down but before now they worked great.
