That's very cheap! That's probably the reason. UAFS is $2000 a semester and that's for like 9hrs and not including any online fees if you have an online class.

Last year spring was $1,280, summer was $584, fall was $1,775 & winter was $544. This spring it's $1,147... Spring & Fall were full time, Summer & Winter were part time.

That's about the same for my school, considering books are $80-$200. And I've still gotten financial aid all four terms.

My sociology book alone was $177 for this semester!

Screw California, everything here is too expensive! lol. I realized I put the TOTAL, which included my refund. So it was really about $1k less than what I first posted, but that's still a lot for a CC.

Ours doesn't include books either, we have to get those on our own. Which is usually what my refund goes to.

It's $5,500 per school year. Doesn't matter how it's spilt but that's the max allotted.
Here, they spilt half of the $5,500 for each semester and half that again for two payments per semester.
Here if you plan to take summer or winter, you just save whatever you have left over from fall or spring.
We also have the BOG waiver in CA that waives tuition fees.

Since your in CA if you were to sign up for eops, you would actually be able to get book grants (provided you have a high enough gpa) and have those paid for you for free.
