Son wanting to eat more

posted 25th Feb
My 3 month old son is wanting a bottle every 2 hours. I try to hold out for as long as I can but doctor told me to feed him when his hungry and do not go by the clock. If I do that he will be over weight. He eats 5 ounces. I gave him 6 ounces and he spits up some of it. I also put rice cereal in his bottle for reflex (doctor orders)!! I am bout out of option of what to do. Suggestions please????????

Feed him
Babies can't be overweight. They survive on the fat.

He won't be overweight. He's hitting a growth spurt. Feed your child.

i would say feed him what he wants. I've never heard of putting a 3 month old on a diet.

Feed him. Your baby is not going to be over weight, and if he was, your doc wouldn't tell you to feed him when he is hungery.

Feed him when he cries for it. When my son was 2 months old, he was eating 8oz every 2 hours and his pedi said it was normal.

He won't be overweight. Only way that'll happen is if you feed him when he's not hungry. It's a growth spurt and those are very normal at this age. His body needs the extra food to grow. Listen to your doctors advice.

Thank you!! I called his pedi and told me to give him a bottle when ever he seems hungry. Its my oldest never went through this. He took bottles every 3 hours and that was it. So my youngest wanting one every 2 hours is new to me
