If you had to choose from a :

2 bed cottage with downstairs bathroom, kitchen, lounge. backgarden. no parking. With no bus services or train line for £650 a month. and 15mins away from SO's work.

or

2 bed house with upstairs bathroom, dining room, lounge, kitchen, back and front garden, with parking for 1 car AND a garage. With buses every hour to the nearest town for £670 a month. and only 5mins away from SO's work.

What one would you choose? Baring in mind, 650 if JUST affordable for us and 670 is sort of pushing it?

I would think the 20 wouldn't be a big issue. I'm sure you can find a way to cut 20 out someplace.

670. That extra 20 could be cut somewhere else. I don't think it'll make you or break you. And it sounds like a much better deal.

I'd go MAD living in the 650 one. it would have to get the town "bus" (big car, lol) to the nearest real bus stop, and get the bus all the way to the city to get another bus to where my mum lives! That's ridiculas.

Really starting to think i should just bite the bullet and learn to bloody drive already! lol. xx

Well then you would need a car which costs even more money. Lol Give SO that option. "Say I'll learn to drive but we got to get me my own car."

  I will do when he gets home. I plan on have a nice long talk about it. I don't wanna live in the middle of no where with no way of seeing my mum and dad without them having to come allll the way to me every time. lol. I like being able to grab the bus once a week to see them. 4buses to go see them does NOT sound apealing to me. lol.

You have to think, even if you are saving $20 in rent a month on the 650, you are still going to spend that on the gas to drive to work and elsewhere, so why not just apply the $20 to rent, and have him ride the bus.
