YIKES! I would probably change your medi-cal over to Kaiser for March. People complain about it, but I've NEVER had a problem getting my son a same day appointment.

The problem with that is I can't afford any other insurance. My husband doesn't get benefits with his job, so medi-cal is my only option. I plan to look for a different doctor office though.

I think what she was saying is there are several insurances under Medi-cal. If you have staright Medical than you can be seen anywhere for anything. Then there is also Kiaser, Health Net, Molina, ect. All you have to do is call your worker, or go to Welfare and find out your options. We have Health Net, and we love it. Also whoever told you that they wouldnt be covered at the ER is wrong. I have gone to the ER when the urgent care center was closed and my office was closed twice and they completely covered it.
