Anterior Placenta

posted 25th Feb
Have you ever had one? Im pretty sure I have one, I never had one with my previous two kids. Im currently 16weeks 3days pregnant, I know for a fact I was feeling my kids by this point and yet this baby is very very muffled if I feel anything at all. I had an apt this morning and my doctor could not locate the baby on the Doppler...scare of my life!! He did do an ultrasound and the baby looks great! But my placenta is right in front of the baby, why he couldnt get the heartbeat and why I cant really feel the baby. He didnt call it an anterior placenta, he just said "the placenta is in front of the baby" I googled it

So if you had one early on in pregnancy did it move later on? And when were you able to finally feel distinct kicks from the baby??

TIA!

I had one the first time and this time. For the longest time I could really only feel them around the edges of my stomach, since the placenta blocks the front. And no, it never moved.

I have one. But at 36 weeks it doesn't make a difference for me anymore. He is so big I can feel everything now.

I had one, I felt her and saw her moving lots at the very end of my pregnancy, but as far as I know it never moved. My doctor didn't even say anything about it until I was like 28 weeks, so I went through about two months of worrying there was something wrong because I could barely feel her.

I have one, and it didn't really move... it's not low laying, I didn't feel him until about 24 weeks... the best... started about 18 weeks and by 24 weeks I could feel him all over... but sometimes I can't feel him at all... just all depends.

I think im not sure, that they just hqve to get the baby out faster because they do cut though the placenta, but im notsure.

Im pretty sure i have on this time too. I had one with annabelle and would go hours without feeling movement. When i get my US im gonna ask!

I thought it had to matter since they are cutting right there. But he didnt mention anything. I have an ultrasound on March 29th, Im going to ask then if its still in the same place. And again when I see the doc. I know its super dangerous to cut the placenta since its the blood supply, I always heard the mother could risk bleeding to death if its not taken care of right away....not sure how true that is though.

Right thats why they have to be quick. I mean what else can they do besides cut verticle? Or try vaginal? Idk good lcuk, maybe google it and see what others said? I thought they just cut throught it and get baby out fast.

Vertically would be worse, it would cut right through the bulk of the placenta. I read online and it says if its high enough it wont matter, the c-section cut is super low. So I guess were just going to have to deal with it when the time comes. Vaginally isnt an option, I have a medical condition that will put me an the baby at risk.

Thanks!
