Thank you ladies. Always a pleasure

I don't consider it quitting. They're still in the habit, they're still getting the nicotine, which is what got them addicted in the first place.
If I switched from cigarettes, to e-cigarettes, I'd still consider myself a smoker. Just a healthier one.

I don't consider it quitting. They're still ingesting nicotine. Good for the, for working on quitting but that's not quitting.

Do you consider people who don't smoke but chew Nicorette gum , in the process of quitting?
Its the same thing to me, if they aren't actually smoking , i consider that having quit.

I kind of consider it quitting, I guess. You're quitting the bazillions of additives that are more addictive than nicotine, so...there's that. And, there's no smoke, so, it isn't "smoking" to me.

I consider that in the process. Quitting is not taking in any nicotine at all.

This is where I feel I stand . I think its better for the person and others around but still not quit

no, I see it as more of a convenience for everyone around them though..
DH lives by his ecig....and if for some reason he runs out of the liquids for it and he can't make it to the mall or just for some reason doesn't have the money to get it(it's like $12 for a bottle that last him a good 3-4 weeks..but it's the drive there and then the drive back that kills him on money) he will buy a pack of cigarettes...I hate when he smokes cigarettes! I hate the smell and when he smokes he has to come back in the house, brush his teeth, take a shower just to be able to be in the same room as me(the smell has never settled while I've been pregnant, both times)..so, even though it's not quitting and I know he doesn't want to quit. I would much rather him have the ecig over real cigarettes.

That's pretty much how I see it. Using nicotine doesn't make you a smoker.

I consider the gum in the process of quitting because of the nicotine. I am proud of her but she is still taki ng in nicotine and that isn't good for her still hats off to her taking a step but my question is should she state she is quit when she is still taking in nicotine

Very true i think it's way better than a cig by far. I remember smelling loke smoke and with her e cig she doesnt and she smoke doesnt bother us... Rather the vapor i guess its calledcalled

I definitely consider it quitting as long as they don't cheat lol DH still takes "a few drags" off a cigarette most days which is a huge difference from 10 cigs a day but still bothers me because he brings thirdhand smoke around with him in his clothes and hair.
You technically don't smoke the ecig though, it's a vaporizer so yes it's quitting smoking, it has nothing to do with harmful smoke.

I don't consider it quitting. It's healthier, yes. But they still use the drug that is what they're addicted to. I mean, obviously it's better than a real cigarette, but I would not call that quitting.

still consider that working on quitting. they haven't kicked addiction, just the method.

I smoke e-cigs and I don't consider it quitting.am I proud of myself for quitting regulars? Absolutely. But its true your still smoking nicotine and your still addicted to smoking something so I don't think you can really say your done 100%. You've just chosen a different method
