how to prepare

posted 25th Feb
I'm not quite sure how to explain to my 6 yr old and 3 1/2 yr old about the condition of the baby's feet. I've always told them everyone is beautiful no matter what (big, small, long hair, short hair etc.) I want them to know ahead of time without scaring them or making it seem worse then it is. She'll have club feet and will quickly be put into casts. Any ideas? Advice? I just don't want them to think sister is hurt, gosh this has been weighing on my mind.

I think I would just tell them casually and not make a big deal out of it. I'd want it to seem very normal and not scary. My 4 year old nephew would have freaked if someone sat him down to tell him something wasn't normal about his brother. I might show them pictures of what they might look like before baby gets here and explain that she's still just as beautiful as everyone else.
