3 year old and attitude

posted 25th Feb
How do you discipline your child if he/she is getting an attitude? My son has been terrible with the attitude lately, and i have been consistent with my punishments, but it doesnt' seem to be helping much. He thinks he runs our house and he's in charge.

DD is a drama queen with attitude. Just keep doing what your doing. She is finally growing out of it a little.

apparently he pulled this crap at school today, which makes it even worse. we will say he can't do something, and he will use it back against us. Or tells his 10 month old brother to stop making noises.

i have been sending him to the corner, but then he gets mad and starts smacking the wall with his hands. Then he gets sent to his room if he starts pulling that crap. I'm just sick of this crap.

I think it's just being consistent and patience.

My daughter's had major attitude since she's been 3... now that she's getting closer to 4 things seem to be getting through to her more? I mean, she still has some attitude, but now she's starting to understand more when she gets a consequence that she shouldn't have the attitude.

It's 3 year old I swear. My daughter is awful. Keeping up with time outs etc and being consistent. My son grew out of it hoping my daughter does too. She is tons worse though. There are teenagers that would ask her what's the deal with the excessive attitude.

Maybe he'd RATHER be sent to his room ... where his toys and comforts are?

I'd make him stay where you put him

Ugh sounds exactly like my son. He starts kicking the wall like a mad man and the worst one thing he does is this god awful high pitched shreik thing that makes me want to flip smurf. That's when he gets sent to his room until he calms down and apologizes. And if we had anything special planned that day its no longer happening, gets movie time taken away, toys etc until he cuts the crap. He's been horrrrrrible lately!

earlier he was done with his breakfast, so i took his plate. well he flipped his smurf, and swiped his arms across the table and knocked everythign onto the floor. He got sent to the corner immediately and started smacking the walls.

For real I've had teens at the grocery store watching her at her finest with jaw dropped in disbelief. She will have NO problem standing up for herself I guess ... Ugh it's gonna be awful In 10 years
