7 week old, pink eye

posted 25th Feb
Miriam is a day shy of 7 weeks, and has conjunctivitis in one eye. I got it first, possibly from her doc's office when a few people who were sick sat in the well waiting area. Then my two older daughters got it from me even when I washed my hands constantly and kept washing my bedding each day. So, finally the youngest has it.

My question is....do I do what most do and just take her to doc and get the antibiotics for her? Or do I do what my gut tells me, and avoid giving her antibiotics so young and just keep putting breastmilk in her eyes? I've been hand expressing milk into a cup and using a dropper to put it in my 5 year old and 3 year old's eyes and they are clearing up pretty fast. I just don't want to play stupid, doesn't matter how many kids you have I guess, you still get nervous about illness in a little one.

That's what I would do. I'm actually putting bm in my ear as we speak for an ear ache as a last resort to going to the dr. I hate drs

Ok, so avoid the doctor? I really hate taking my kids to the doctor, so if I can avoid it I will.

Just give it a few days with BM. It should clear it up. If not I'd take her in

That's what i would do. Use your instinct though. If you think it's worsening or not getting better I'd go in. But more than likely it'll work.
