It's so hard to knock the habit. The only way I'd be strong enough is if I got pregnant again, which isn't going to happen any time soon. I'm hoping this e-cig thing helps at least a little.

It's an improvement, IMO!
To each their own. I grew up in a family of smokers who smoked around us always, and I smoke, and my brother smokes. So for me it's just important not to make it acceptable to my kids, kwim? But at least he's not doing it in a harmful way.

My whole family smokes. None of DHs family does, other than DH.
So my kids still see it sometimes, I've just made it clear that no one can smoke near them, while playing with them, in the house, or in the car with them.
But I can't tell other people not to smoke, ya know?
The kids see me most often and after quitting, I just didn't want to make it look like I failed or like I thought it was acceptable to pick it back up again.
But there are worse things you could be doing!

That's true!

But I admire your strength. Hopefully this option makes it easier for me to stop all together.

Thanks   And good luck! You're making progress one step at a time!

We tried the e-cigs but we just couldn't get down with them   If we did use those, to kind of answer your question, I still wouldn't smoke in front of the kids, but I WOULD smoke them in our room or the bathroom, alone, in the winter time lol.

Quoting Rista Kat:" Is it safe? Do you use them around children? In the car or in the house? I just got one but I feel so weird smoking in places I'm not supposed to."

I use it around my kids. They love the vapor, you can smell the ejuice when it's used, and it smells good
