Genetic testing

Have you ever had it done? My daughter is getting it done today because her neuro wants it done. My poor kid is so nervous about it

Its just a blood draw.... My daugnter had the microaray test. She has epilepsy. Why does the nuero want it done?

It has something to do with her Autism. I'm not sure exactly what with the autism though, because her doctors speech is hard to understand ! She has a very thick accent.

Id be asking for her to write it down or so ething. Its hard for her to help you, if you cant u derstand her. Well good luck. We found out my daughter has a gene deletion on her chromosme 7. And also she had some extra repeqts on the end of one of her X chromosomes and is in the "gray" area for soemthing called fragile X. we didnt want anything to be "wrong" with her,but were happy to get answers after years of being told she would grow out of it and stuff.

Normally there's a nurse in with us, but she wasn't this time. We also have to get another MRI done as well, because her last one was done in 2006

My son had the bloodwork done a few months ago, we haven't gotten his MRI yet and that's what I'm really nervous about.

Yeah the MRI always makes me nervous because I'm always afraid of what they'll find

We've never done one before. I don't think they will find anything but I don't like the idea of them putting him under. That's what is scaring me more than anything.

Its deff nerve wrecking. My daughter had one last summer and she was 4. She was giggly going under and then woke up very cranky and sleepy. But the results came back normal besides some fluid or swelling or something like that in her sinuses.


Good luck, its jard to go through but worth it in the end.

because they put them under for such a short time it makes them pissed off/mad and makes them mean my daughter has tubes placed and she was pissed when she woke up. She has a CT as well but i got her to sleep for that
