You are involved in a hostage situation. An armed man is holding you with a gun to your throat. A police officer shoots the gunman and you in the process. For the sake of D&D, we'll assume the shot did no lasting damage. Would you sue?

No, I'm lucky to be alive.

nope. the thought wouldn't even enter my mind.

No he was doing his job, for once...

no lasting damage. the cop saved my life, and everyone elses along with it. who am I to complain?  

Absolutely not. I'd rather be shot than dead.

No way. The cop probably saved my life. Suing would be the last thing on my mind.

What if there was lasting damage?

Nope. I still wouldn't sue. I'll take permanent damage over death.

Absolutely not. The police officer saved my life and my insurance would cover my medical bills. Whatever wasn't covered, we'd pay on our own.
Luckily we'd never be in this situation because we both concealed carry at all times and DH used to be a Firearms Instructor   We love our guns!
