breasfeeding??

okay so my LO is gunna 6 weeks on tuesday. i thought he had an allergy to formula so i stopped supplementing and started bfing completly. unfortunaly my body is not producing enough milk so he starves by about 8 o clock he bites pulls off and crys bc i am not producing enough for him. so far i have been supplementing still bc i dont want him to starve last night it was 6 oz he chugged down tonight it was only 2. hopefully by tomorow i wont need to supplement at all but i was jw if its best i jsut stick it out with him even tho he is starving maybe eventually ill have a small letdown to satisfy or if its best to just give him the bottle bc he is freakin out and starving!?? he sucks for so long and there is no letdown i feel there is no hope in keeping him on the boob. but i was jw if there was and if i should not have given him those bottles and just kept him on?? thanks a bunch dudes i appreciate all input!!

I'm no expert, but I heard that every time you supplement, you should try to breast feed first and then supplement the remainder. Or pump while supplementing.

In order to make more milk you have to allow baby to stimulate you for a long time. He's trying to cluster feed to bring in more milk. He may want to eat for 3-5 hours straight but that would be expected and good. Let him nurse and in a day or 2 it will increase to the amount needed. 8pm is the normal time to cluster feed. Let him eat. He's fine he's not starving

Supplementing is just going to allow your body to think it doesnt need to produce that much. Your baby won't starve, try hand expressing in a hot shower, nipple stimulation, mothers milk tea, pumoing in between feedings, and for a few weeks honestly you're just going to let him live on your boob. It took me 4 mo ths to get my supply up after supplementing feom birth, it was exhausting, but so worth it.

oh man i dooo!! he was eating for like 5 hrs but getting next to nothing it seemed he was still so starved. thats wat i did yesterday too like i really dont care if hes on my boob day in day out for now as long as its bringin my supply up but it didnt seem to be!! he was so hungry   and lmao pumping! heck no there is NOTHING there he sucks me dry man DRY i wishhhh

okay! ya thats wat my health nurse said omg thats terrible lol four months UGH yeah it will be worth it tho. thanks man this really helped i have hope!!   and was wrong to feed him that formula it seems... :/

No no, don't beat yourself up about it, but honestly your baby will not starve. Your nippleson the other hand, might get raw, but it's so worth it. And remember to keep hydrated! Lots of water momma

You are never dry you always produce a little bit. My sons personal best when I lost my supply was 11 hours straight followed by a 1 hour break then 3 more hours. The next day my supply returned. Remember empty breasts make milk full ones don't.
