Quoting D/JHO:" So for those of you who believe in abortion after viability. If the baby is born with some kind of defect would the mother have the right to decide to end it's life after birth?"
That's not the same thing as terminating a pregnancy
Plus, there's all kinds of genetic testing now, so as far as I know, it is fairly uncommon to go all the way to birth in America without knowing about major defects. Birth injuries are certainly tragic, and Idk what I'd do in a situation like that. I especially don't know what my heart would do. So, sorry, can't say.
In some parts of the world, it's pretty common for parents to abandon or kill babies right after birth if they have defects. The Inuits used to toss baby girls out into the snow because they had no value. Who am I to say what should be acceptable for anyone's life or culture based on my own opinions? I've never even had an abortion and I'm one of the most pro-choice people I know, only because it's just not my place to judge. People do the best they can figure out how to do for themselves, and sometimes I don't understand it, but it's not mine to understand.
