Put baby to stay with mother at all times., no vaccinations to be done while staying at the hospital

And anything else you want!

I have a small birth plan for my csection. But I'm expecting them to say no to all of them

Like what would you expect them to say no to?

This is what I told them (didn't write anything out, just told EVERYONE at the hospital) Skin to skin AS SOON AS you go to recovery, no bath until I'm in my room/bath to be done in my room, no bottles/formula/binkies, baby does not leave my room for any reason, everything that needs to be done is to be done in the room. The doctors/nurses were amazing in everything I wanted done. I didn't miss anything once she was born. I got to see her weighed and everything in the OR. Just make sure whatever you write on paper, is also told to every nurse, doctor, person that walks into your room. No exceptions!

I don't want my arms tied down, I want the sheet lowered when the baby is born, I'd like them to let me see the baby longer than last time and I want to be able to wear my glasses

I think that's it. I'm waiting to bring it up closer to my due date with my doctor
I have a feeling they will say no to most of them. The sheet thing yes maybe! Hopefully baby staying a bit longer is yes too!

Oh I didn't even think of skin to skin and oh, they will no absolutely no bottles. My recovery last time was miserable, I almost died from blood loss, and my son had to be tube fed, amd supplements. I just want a smooth ride this time.

My nurses were such smurfs. They acted like me and my husband were a bunch of young idiots

My DH and I decided to give my son a sponge bath together. The 1st time I could finally stand. After his sponge bath the nurse came in and was like I'm going to take him for a sponge bath he is filthy around his neck
And she had known we just gave him one. It was kind of like you didn't do a good enough job.

Smurf like that will not be going down this time.

Arms tied down? They had my sons father hold mys hands to comfort me. It will probably be a no on yhe glasses  bit good lucl. I hope ot all works out for you.

Filthy!? You just gave birth lol oh hell no. I don't even remember seeing my son until he was 3 days old. I lost so much blood it was awful.

Yes I was strapped to the table. I couldn't even touch my baby

They placed him beside my head for a second told me to give him a kiss and took him away

Just because they were all dying to know what he weighed. I sat in the recovery room alone. They never offered to bring him in.

I think I'm going to ask about that.

Funny how all hospitals are different...

And what the other person said.. Make sure you vocalize your wants because probably only your doctor will end up reading your plan! I hope you get what you'd like too

I've had three c-sections; first was emergency and the second/third were planned. I promise you, recovery is much easier when it's planned! The third time around, I delivered at a different hospital and they said I didn't have to have my arms tied down if I chose not to (which I did) and it was amazing being able to actually grab/hold my baby when the nurses bundled her up. My first, I didn't get to see her being born and my second, I wasn't allowed to hold her in the OR due to my arms being tied down. As for the skin to skin, DH took her to the nursery while I was being stitched up but he was in the recovery room with her when I was being wheeled in there. She was with us then until we were released.

Why did you lose so much blood? From the csection?

I hope you have a better experience this time. I was very sick too but at least I saw my babe..! Poor you

I was induced the day before because of preeclampsia, after 18 hours of labor and dilating to 4 I lost a large clot and they rushed me into the or. I had been complaining to my idiot ob that I felt tearing for weeks, but she brushed it off and said it was because I was small and baby was growing big.. well I had a sever placenta abruption and my son had stopped growing and I was bleeding internally for about 5 weeks. Ugh, it was a mess. Sorry for the novel.

Wow that is awful!! I'm glad everyone was ok.

Yes, they are in the same practice. And my new ob treats me like a queen, I think their trying to avoid a lawsuit. My last ob refused to give me a third ultrasound to check my placenta at 30+ weeks and I'm 25 weeks and have had 5, 3d ultrasounds, and I have them every two weeks starting at 28 weeks.
