So I went to my 39 week appointment on Thursday at 1pm. They did an ultrasound to see how she was measuring and said my fluid was low and sent us straight to the hospital for an induction. Just before 5:30 they started my pitocin along with the antibiotic because of the group b test being positive. Labor definitely ended up going quicker than any of us anticipated because when I called in my midwife at 8 to check me and see if I could have some pain meds, I was already 9 centimeters. At 8:34, after 4 minutes of pushing, Gabriella Josephine was born weighing 6 lbs. 7 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. Unfortunately, because labor went so quick we had to wait for her cultures to come back Saturday night before we could go home. Then of course they made us wait until this morning because they had no techs in the lab to release the results last night. For the most part things are good, although it seems that she is having trouble tolerating the formula we have so for now I am trying to build up my milk production and not have to supplement with the formula. Hopefully at her appointment with the pediatrician everything will be going well and that the toleration of formula is what was causing the puking.
